Brooke Grove Foundation, Inc.

After working with Gross Mendelsohn, this continuing care retirement community restored trust with key stakeholders and met audit deadlines.

About Brooke Grove Foundation, Inc.

Brooke Grove Foundation, Inc. is a full-service continuing care retirement community offering assisted living, independent living, rehabilitation, skilled nursing and Alzheimer’s services. Brooke Grove strives to enhance the lives of residents, staff, family members and visitors by living well together, encouraging individual discovery, valuing family matters and providing enriching experiences.

The Situation

Brooke Grove was introduced to Gross Mendelsohn’s Healthcare Group many years ago while attending an annual healthcare conference. After seeing the results of Jennifer Rock's yearly benchmark study for Maryland skilled nursing facilities, Brooke Grove began relying on Gross Mendelsohn to provide custom data and reports to show a more detailed review of their facility’s costs compared to their competitors and the industry. After conducting an extensive search for a new CPA firm, Brooke Grove hired Gross Mendelsohn for financial statement audit, single audit financial statement, tax return, and Maryland Medicaid and Medicare cost report preparation.

In Our Client's Words

“From the beginning, the communication was excellent. Jennifer Rock is so easy to work with and over-communicates everything to ensure we’re aware of any potential challenges or things that may come up during the audit process.

Jennifer also made additional efforts to assist with our first-year transition to a new firm. She was very accommodating and fit us into her already full schedule. Our audit this year went extremely well, and we met all of our deadlines.

Thanks to Jennifer and the team, we’ve restored trust with our board, banks and anyone else who needs to review our annual audit report. This year we were right on track and didn’t have to ask for any extensions — nothing was missed!”
