Rich Shank, CPA, CMA, is a manager in the firm’s audit and accounting department. As a member of the firm’s Manufacturing & Distribution Group, he provides audits, reviews, compilations, tax preparation and business consulting services to manufacturers and distributors. Rich is also a member of the firm’s Nonprofit Group, managing audits, including Single Audits (formerly OMB Circular A-133), and tax compliance for a number of Maryland’s nonprofit organizations.
Rich has experience with architects, engineers and construction contractors, providing financial statement audits, tax services and overhead rate audits.
He also conducts employee benefit plan audits for businesses and nonprofit organizations. He closely monitors the AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center to ensure our audits are fully compliant with the Department of Labor’s high levels of audit scrutiny.
Rich enjoys helping his clients solve complex problems that enable them to maximize their profitability and comply with laws and regulations.
Rich has 15+ years of public accounting experience, two of which were spent at an international CPA firm. He is passionate about training newcomers to the profession and helping them discover their full potential.
Rich serves as a board member of Stocks in the Future, a nonprofit organization developed in conjunction with Johns Hopkins University to teach financial literacy to Baltimore middle school students. As the former treasurer of two years, Rich now oversees Stocks in the Future's accounting.
