Despite national concerns about the degree of government regulations and rising healthcare and insurance costs, the future of Maryland’s manufacturing industry is looking brighter. While not all Maryland manufactures and industry experts share this positive outlook, according to the Governor’s Office, Maryland reported a 2.8% increase in Maryland manufacturing jobs since 2015. This is the largest percentage increase of any state in the region, and the first time Maryland has had a positive year-to-year manufacturing job growth since 1998.
