About Maryland SPCA

The Maryland SPCA works to improve the lives of pets and people in the community. Founded in 1869, the nonprofit organization places more than 3,000 adopted pets each year into new homes, carefully matching adopters with animals.
An active spay/neuter program is part of the Maryland SPCA’s initiative to help control animal overpopulation. The organization also offers behavior counseling and training courses to help keep pets in homes. Thousands of pets and people in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area are served each year by the Maryland SPCA.
