Marty, a co-founder of the firm, retired in 2001. In addition to serving on the firm’s executive committee, he was in charge of Gross Mendelsohn’s quality control. A long-time member of the firm’s audit and accounting committee, Marty specialized in serving real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution and retail companies.

Marty earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland in 1951 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1952, and one year later earned his MBA degree from the same school. He attended the University of Baltimore Law School, received his LL.B in 1959, and became a member of the Maryland Bar that same year.

While active in the firm, he served as chairman of several committees of the Maryland Association of CPAs. Marty has served on the boards of directors of the Jewish Community Center, Association Placement and Guidance Service, and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center.
