Jim is a principal in Gross Mendelsohn’s audit and accounting department and the leader of the firm’s Healthcare Group.

During his 28-year career in public accounting, Crisp has provided audit, accounting, tax, operational and reimbursement-related services to long term care facilities, including skilled nursing centers, retirement communities and assisted living facilities, as well as community-based health clinics.

He also serves nonprofit organizations, including those that require
A-133 audits. He has conducted and authored numerous training programs and articles on topics such as charitable giving techniques, unrelated business income tax issues, and the regulatory requirements of OMB Circular A-133.

Jim, a member of the firm's Nonprofit Group, published an article in the Baltimore Business Journal: "For Baltimore Nonprofits, new 990 is more than just a tax form."

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Jim is a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, LifeSpan Network and Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations. In addition, he is a member of the Health Facilities Association of Maryland and serves on the organization’s Member Relations Committee. Jim also serves as treasurer of the Sillery Bay/Hunters Harbor Civic and Recreation Association. He has also served on the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee, as treasurer, of the Contemporary Museum of Art.
