Ernie Paszkiewicz, CPA, presents seminar for nonprofits

Paszkiewicz offered attendees an overview of basic accounting principles and how to use them to develop an annual budget. He discussed components of a budget, identifying common errors made by nonprofit organizations in budgeting, and methods for handling items specific to the nonprofit sector, including donations and in-kind contributions and services.
Paszkiewicz is a partner in Gross, Mendelsohn & Associates’ audit and accounting department. He is a member of the firm’s Nonprofit Group. He is a member of the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Maryland Association of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs. He graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. Paszkiewicz published two articles in the Baltimore Business Journal, “Succession planning important for nonprofit organizations, too” and “Nonprofits need to pick their financial controls carefully.”
